# How we built an SEO asset worth €782,376 a year

*How we turned our website into an asset worth €65,000 a month, without paying Google a single euro.*

| Zoom Authority | Total keywords | Organic traffic | Monthly value (PPC equiv.) |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| from 32 → 47 | from 1,700 → 3,083 | from ~5K → 23,623/month | €0 → €65,198/month |

**00 · ****BEFORE WE START — WHAT SEO REALLY IS**

## SEO is not a campaign. It is infrastructure.

There is a wrong way to think about SEO, and most companies practise it without realising.

The mistake is treating it as an activity. Something you do for a while, measure, and stop when the budget runs out or a more urgent priority comes along. One channel among many. A line in the quarterly editorial plan.

This approach produces temporary results that depend on continuous activity and are bound to decay the moment it stops.
The right approach is different. SEO, when built with method, is not an activity, it is infrastructure. Like the foundations of a building: you cannot see them, they make no noise, they generate no headlines. But they determine how high you can build.

A solid SEO infrastructure is made of three layers that support one another. The first is technical: the site’s ability to be read, understood and correctly indexed by crawlers. The second is content: a content map designed to capture specific search intents, built to last over time and to grow stronger with every new piece published. The third is authority: the network of external signals — backlinks, citations, editorial mentions, which tell search engines that the domain exists in the real world, not just online.

When these three layers are aligned, something happens that no paid campaign can replicate: traffic grows even while you sleep. Content published six months ago keeps ranking. Links acquired a year ago keep passing authority. The system reinforces itself.

This is why SEO results are not linear. They are exponential.

And this is exactly what we have built on blissagency.it.

**01 · ****THE STARTING POINT — THE HONEST QUESTION**

## “And what about you: how are you doing for yourselves?”

[Immagine: SEO case study: SEOZoom dashboard with authority data for the blissagency.it domain, organic traffic, keywords and backlinks.]

There is a question every prospective client asks us, sooner or later, during a discovery call. Sometimes they ask it outright. More often they leave it hanging in the air, as a considered silence.

It is the right question. It is the only question that really matters when you are considering entrusting someone with your positioning on Google.

Because anyone can show you a deck full of clients’ rising charts. Anyone can promise you organic traffic, first-page keywords, domain authority. But there is a test that is far simpler and far harder to fake: can that agency do for itself what it claims it can do for you?

We asked ourselves that question about a year ago. And we decided the answer could not be “we’re working on it” or “it’s in next quarter’s plan”. It had to be in the data.

***Every agency has a deck of client results. Very few have a case study on themselves, with the real numbers, the early difficulties and the mistakes that come with it.***

What you are reading is that case study. It is not built to impress. It is built to be verifiable: every number has a primary source, every claim has a supporting screenshot.

**02 · ****THE DIAGNOSIS — A CLEAN START**

## A website that was losing money every day without knowing it

The starting point was not a disaster. Blissagency.it was online, had published content and a minimal but existing SEO presence. Zoom Authority around 32, a score that signals a respectable domain, but one that in the competitive market of Italian communications agencies amounts to being invisible on almost every commercial query that matters.

The technical diagnosis was the first thing we did. Not out of professional scruple, but because there is no way to grow a site that Google’s crawlers cannot even read properly. Before talking about content, keywords or link building, the site has to work.

***An honest diagnosis is always the hardest starting point. It requires applying to yourself the same critical standards you apply to others. But it is also the only useful starting point.***

**03 · ****THE STRATEGY — HOW AN SEO ASSET IS BUILT**

## Four fronts. One goal: traffic you don’t pay for by the click.

The strategy was not built to look good in a monthly report. It was built to generate real economic value over time: qualified traffic, sector authority, visibility that accumulates rather than dissolves.

Four operational fronts, in order of priority:

### 1 · The technical layer: fix before you build

[Immagine: SEO case study: PageSpeed Insights screenshot showing an SEO score of 100 for blissagency.it, computer analysis, focus on optimisation.]

There is no point building content on a site that Google cannot read properly. It is like opening a shop with the shutters down. We devoted the first period almost entirely to technical clean-up.

- Full disavow of toxic links via Google Search Console, removing negative signals from the backlink profile

- Rewrite of all on-page tags: unique keyword-optimised titles, meta descriptions that communicate value, a coherent heading structure

- Fixing noindex errors: strategic pages restored to Google’s index

- Correct canonical tags across the entire site, no risk of duplicate content

- Schema.org implemented on every key page: Organization, Article, FAQ, BreadcrumbList

- Core Web Vitals optimisation, final result: desktop 91/100 on PageSpeed, SEO score 100/100

***PageSpeed SEO score: 100/100 on desktop. Best practices: 100/100. This is not a technical detail; it is the signal Google receives before it even reads the content.***

### 2 · Content: building topical authority, not volume

[Immagine: SEOzoom screenshot from an SEO case study: positioning analysis for the keyword "agenzia marketing". Rankings, SERP and search data visible.]

When a website underperforms, the temptation is to produce more. Publish more articles, more often. It is the wrong answer: it produces volume without direction, and in SEO volume without direction is noise.

The central strategic choice was architectural: giving each level of the site a precise, non-overlapping function, avoiding the keyword cannibalisation that would have set our own pages competing against each other.

- **Homepage → navigational and branded keywords: people who already know us and search for us directly**

- **Service pages → high-intent commercial keywords: people actively looking for an agency**

- **Blog → long-tail informational keywords: people who do not know us yet but are looking for the same answers as our clients**

***Three levels, three functions, no overlap. Keyword cannibalisation is not a technical problem, it is a strategic one. And it costs real rankings on real queries.***

On this architecture we built content designed to last: thematic hubs with a [pillar-cluster structure,](https://blissagency.it/en/seo-en/content-clustering-guide/) search intent optimisation page by page, and dedicated work to capture AI Overview results, Google’s new first page that most sites still ignore.

### 3 · Link building, from 10 to 392 referring domains

[Immagine: SEO case study: backlink analysis of blissagency.it with SEOZoom. Overview, TLDs, geolocation and domain analysis. SEO optimisation]

Inbound links are the currency of authority in Google’s eyes. A site with few links from authoritative domains is worth less than one with many, even if the content is identical. We started with around 10 active referring domains and no acquisition strategy.

Growth to 392 referring domains came through five channels, but with a single guiding principle: quality and context before volume. One link from La Repubblica is worth more than a hundred links from generic directories.

And speaking of La Repubblica: it has written about us. Twice. Along with La Stampa, Il Messaggero, Milano Finanza, TPI, Engage, Startup Italia and dozens of other publications.

[Immagine: SEO case study: screenshot of mentions in Il Messaggero, La Stampa and Repubblica, focusing on Bliss and its offices in Rome and Milan.]

***La Repubblica wrote about us twice. La Stampa, Il Messaggero, Milano Finanza. We had a story worth telling.***

One episode made this visibility more tangible than any dashboard: Jean-Claude Van Damme visited Bliss’s office in Rome in person. The story was picked up by TPI, Inside Marketing and IVG. This is not link building in the traditional sense of the term. It is a sign that the brand has moved beyond the perimeter of industry agencies and into the wider cultural agenda, and Google reads it.

[Immagine: SEO case study: Jean-Claude Van Damme in Rome with Bliss. Branding and digital strategy in the spotlight. JCVD, SEO star.]

### 4 · The AI Overview: the channel 95% of sites ignore

[Immagine: Google SERP for "agenzia branding Italia": results featuring Bliss, Cose Agency and Henry&Co. for tailored and digital branding.]

There is a shift under way in Google’s SERPs that most business owners have not yet absorbed. For a growing share of queries, especially informational ones where a prospective client is weighing up their options, Google no longer shows a list of links. It shows a direct, AI-generated answer, citing the sources it has judged most authoritative.

Whoever is not cited in that answer does not exist for that query. Not on page two. Not at the bottom of page one. Simply not in the conversation.

We optimised every strategic piece of content to capture this channel: explicit question-and-answer structures, FAQ schema, HowTo markup, and content designed to be extracted and cited by language models. As a result, blissagency.it now appears for 460 keywords in Google’s AI Overviews.

***If you are not cited in the AI Overview, you are not on page two. You are not at the bottom of page one. You are simply not in the conversation, and the prospective client will never know you exist.***

**04 · ****THE NUMBERS — BEFORE AND AFTER**

## From a site that existed to an asset that produces €65,000 a month.

The figures that follow come from two distinct sources. SEOZoom data are algorithmic estimates based on SERP sampling: useful for understanding direction, less precise on absolute values. Google Analytics 4 and Google Search Console data are real, verified figures, not estimates. Both tell the same story.

[Immagine: SEOZoom screenshot: SEO analysis, domain trend, ranking keywords and metrics. SEO optimisation for "SEO CASE STUDY".]

| Metric | Before | After | Δ |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Zoom Authority | 32 | 47 | +46,9% |
| Total ranking keywords | ~1.700 | 3.083 | +81,4% |

| Total organic clicks (16 months) | — | 24.700 | — |

| Sessions from AI engines | 0 | 771 | — |

***€65,198 a month. That is the value of organic traffic calculated at the equivalent Google Ads cost. Every month. Without paying Google a single euro per click.***

## The real data — Google Analytics 4

SEOZoom estimates capture visibility. Google Analytics 4 measures the real people who reach the site through the organic channel. Year-on-year comparison, September 2024/April 2025 vs September 2025/April 2026:

| GA4 metric — Organic Search | Previous year | Current year | Δ YoY |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Total users | 2.844 | 4.297 | +51,09% |
| New users | 2.377 | 4.258 | +79,13% |
| Returning users | 495 | 1.010 | +104,04% |
| Average engagement time | 1m 42s | 3m 16s | +91,24% |
| Engaged sessions | 1,00 | 1,18 | +18,21% |
| Total event count | 26.567 | 57.912 | +117,98% |

*Source: Google Analytics 4 · User acquisition by channel · Year-on-year comparison*

[Immagine: Google Analytics screenshot: user acquisition, top channels. Organic, direct and referral traffic chart. SEO case study.]

The most telling figure is not the number of users. It is time. People arriving from the organic channel stay on the site almost twice as long as last year, from 1 minute 42 seconds to 3 minutes 16 seconds. This signals that organic traffic is qualified: not casual visitors, but people who were looking for exactly what they found.

***Returning users from the organic channel have grown by +104%. We are not just bringing in traffic; we are building an audience that comes back.***

**05 · ****THE MARKET — WHY COMPETITORS AREN’T GROWING AND WE ARE**

## SEO is not a race against Google. It is a race against your competitors.

And the comparison, right now, is stark.

The historically dominant players among Italian communications agencies, netstrategy.it, sortlist.it, dexanet.com, have larger keyword bases than ours, built up over years. On paper they look unbeatable. But there is one thing static numbers do not show: direction.

[Immagine: SEO chart of the main competitors: traffic vs keywords. SEO analysis for a case study, comparing websites and positioning.]

[Immagine: SEO case study: keyword distribution by page. Bar chart showing the performance of different URLs. SEO optimisation.]

Blissagency.it has the steepest growth vector in the market. And in SEO, the vector matters more than the starting position, because SEO is a long game, and whoever grows most today will be ahead of everyone in 18 months.

| Domain | Estimated traffic | 12-month trend | Competitive position |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| blissagency.it | 23.623 | ↑ steady acceleration | Growing strongly |
| netstrategy.it | ~40.000 | → stable | Dominant but static |

***Having more keywords does not mean winning. It means having more ground to defend. The real competitive advantage is direction, not starting position.***

The keyword distribution by page confirms the direction: Bliss has around 1,500 keywords on Google’s first page. We are not yet at the volume of the most established players, but our rate of keyword acquisition is the highest in the sector. And those acquiring today will enjoy the compounding effect over the next 12-18 months.

**06 · ****AI AUTHORITY — WHEN GOOGLE SPEAKS IN YOUR VOICE**

## There is ranking. And there is becoming the source.

There is a threshold that separates those who hold a position in the SERP from those who have become the reference by which search engines, and language models, define an entire sector. Ranking brings you traffic. Semantic authority does something more: it turns you into the answer Google gives when someone asks the question you want to capture.

Bliss has crossed that threshold. These are the figures.

***Google uses our content to explain what brand advisory is to people searching for it. It is not a ranking. It is a definition.***

### Google AI Overview — top source for “brand advisory”

[Immagine: Screenshot of the Google search "Brand Advisory", showing the definition and the strategic advisory services for brand positioning.]

For the query “brand advisory”, one of the most strategic for our commercial positioning, Google AI Overview cites Bliss as the main source in the body of the answer. Bliss content also occupies both slots in the right-hand sidebar. The first organic result below the AI Overview is blissagency.it in position 1.

Anyone searching for “brand advisory” on Google today sees Bliss before anything else. Before the organic answer, before competitors, before any ad.

### Google AI Mode — “agenzia branding italia”

[Immagine: Screenshot of the Google search "agenzia branding Italia". List of Italian branding agencies. SEO case study on branding agencies.]

In Google’s new AI Mode interface, Bliss appears in the Creative Boutiques and Specialised Agencies section with this description, generated autonomously by the AI:

***“Bliss (Milan and Rome): Describes itself as a ‘Business Transformation Partner’, using neuro-strategy and data science to govern brand perception.”***

In the organic SERP for the same query, blissagency.it ranks in first position overall with the article “Le 10 Migliori Agenzie di Branding in Italia: Classifica 2026”.

### ChatGPT — in the same category as Interbrand and Armando Testa

[Immagine: Branding agencies Italy: ChatGPT lists the best Italian branding agencies, strategic branding firms and creative agencies.]

For the query “agenzia branding italia”, ChatGPT places Bliss in the category “Top Italian agencies (branding + creativity)”, alongside Interbrand Italia, Angelini Design and Armando Testa, three of the names with the longest history in Italian branding.

The description ChatGPT generates: “Among the most cited in Italy today for modern, strategic branding (Rome + Milan)”. We did not write it. A language model generated it after analysing millions of sources across the web.

***ChatGPT puts us in the same category as Interbrand and Armando Testa. We did not write that; an AI inferred it by analysing millions of sources. This is the result of semantic authority built over time.***

### Perplexity — among the top branding agencies in Italy

[Immagine: SEO case study: search for branding agencies in Italy with Perplexity AI. List of top agencies in Milan, Padua and Rome. Italian branding agencies.]

For the query “agenzia branding italia”, Perplexity includes Bliss in its main list of top Italian agencies with the description: “A strategic, tailored approach to multichannel branding, with a focus on aesthetic excellence”, alongside Interbrand Italia and Robilant & Associati.

### Visits coming from AI engines

| AI engine | Sessions | % of AI traffic |
| --- | --- | --- |
| ChatGPT | 648 | 84,05% |
| Perplexity | 89 | 11,54% |
| Claude | 21 | 2,72% |
| Gemini | 11 | 1,43% |
| Copilot | 2 | 0,26% |
| Total | 771 | 2.74% of total traffic |

**07 · ****THE TRAJECTORY — WHERE THIS SYSTEM LEADS**

## The compounding effect of SEO: why the best is yet to come.

Those who look at SEO results three months into the work see little. Those who look at twelve months begin to understand. Those who look at twenty-four months understand why this is the channel with the best investment-to-return ratio in digital marketing.

The keyword trend chart for blissagency.it over the last 12 months shows exactly this dynamic. From May to September 2025: moderate growth, almost disappointing for anyone expecting immediate results. From September to January: progressive acceleration. From January to April 2026: the slope changes sharply. The current peak exceeds 13,500 tracked keywords.

Traffic tells the same story:

- 1 year ago: ~3,067 estimated visits/month

- 9 months ago: ~5,194 visits/month (+69%)

- 6 months ago: ~10,129 visits/month (+95% in 3 months)

- 3 months ago: ~14,913 visits/month (+47% in 3 months)

- Today: 23,623 visits/month, Real Time Trend +98.4% year on year

The SEOZoom forecast for the next 12 months projects growth to 304,061 monthly visits, +124.68% on the last 12 months. The quarterly plan still identifies 97 pages that can be improved and an untapped potential of 280,430 monthly searches.

[Immagine: Website SEO traffic chart: forecasts and monthly changes (May-Mar). Case study analysis of organic traffic growth. Example screenshot.]

***280,430 monthly searches not yet captured. 97 pages to improve. The potential is not behind us, it is ahead. And it grows every month the system is at work.***

**08 · ****WHY THIS MATTERS TO YOU**

## The cost of organic invisibility is real. And it grows every day.

So far we have talked about ourselves. Now let’s talk about you.

If your company depends on Google Ads, Meta Ads or any other paid channel to generate visibility, you are renting that visibility. Every month you pay to exist. Every month you fail to invest in SEO is a month in which your competitor who is doing so consolidates an advantage that becomes ever more expensive to recover.

The organic traffic blissagency.it generates today is worth €65,198 a month in equivalent cost per click on Google Ads. This value does not depend on a monthly advertising budget. It depends on a self-reinforcing system built over time. Stop paying for Google Ads and tomorrow the traffic drops to zero. Organic traffic built in 2025 keeps working in 2026, 2027 and 2028.

***Organic traffic is an asset that accumulates. Paid traffic is rent that starts again from zero every month.***

What we built on blissagency.it in less than a year, from ~5,000 monthly visits to 23,623, from 10 referring domains to 392, from invisible in AI Overview to primary source for strategic queries, is not an isolated case. It is the result of a replicable method. The same method we apply for our clients.

***Every month without a solid SEO infrastructure is a month in which you are leaving traffic, authority and revenue on the table for your competitors to take instead of you.***

**09 · ****CONCLUSION — EAT YOUR OWN COOKING**

## If you cannot do it for yourself, you should not be selling it.

This is the principle we started from a year ago. And this is the result.

Zoom Authority from 32 to 47. Keywords from 1,700 to 3,083. Referring domains from 10 to 392. Organic traffic from a few thousand visits to 23,623 a month, certified by Google Analytics 4. Equivalent value: €65,198 a month. Google using our content to define what brand advisory is. ChatGPT placing us in the same category as Interbrand and Armando Testa. La Repubblica writing about us twice.

In less than a year. No shortcuts. With a method we first applied to ourselves, and now bring to our clients.

SEO is not an expense. It is infrastructure that produces compounding returns over time, exactly like a property bought rather than rented, a senior employee rather than a project-based consultant, a brand built rather than a campaign bought.

***Eat your own cooking. If you cannot do it for yourself, you should not be selling it to others. And when you genuinely do it, this is exactly the result.***

## Frequently Asked Questions

### What is an SEO asset, and how does it differ from an SEO campaign?

An SEO campaign optimises pages for keywords. An SEO asset builds authority over a topical domain over time (what Google calls Topical Authority). The difference is between getting traffic today and owning a digital territory that generates value autonomously and continuously.

### How will SEO change with AI engines such as ChatGPT and Perplexity?

The logic shifts from keywords to citability. AI models give answers. To appear in those answers, a brand must be perceived as a reliable authority on a subject. That requires semantically structured content.

### How long does it take to build an SEO asset that really works?

It depends on the competitiveness of the sector and the quality of the content, but rarely less than 6-12 months of consistent work. It is an investment with returns that grow over time: customer acquisition cost falls as authority grows, until it becomes structurally lower than any paid channel.

### What is the real ROI of a long-term SEO strategy?

The highest of any digital channel over a 2-3 year horizon. Once authority is built, traffic arrives at no incremental cost. Bliss’s internal benchmark across managed clients shows that the SEO asset becomes the main channel for qualified acquisition within 18 months of launch.
